RTS2 is an open source observatory manager for robotic telescopes. Its driving requirements originated from quick follow-ups of Gamma Ray Burst. Now it has become one of the most popular Autonomous Observatory Manager Software all over the world, and widely used in Robotic Autonomous Observatories (RAOs). Dozens of telescopes are controlled by the RTS2 platform, such as the BOOTES global network of robotic observatories. The fourth station of this network – B4 - has been installed in Lijiang observatory in 2012. The RTS2 has also been used on the Antarctica’s Light-Star Survey Telescope on China ZhongShan Station. More and more astronomers and engineers, even some students are becoming RTS2’s users or developers, and more projects will be powered by RTS2 in the future. For better communication and cooperation, we held the First Workshop on Autonomous Observatory Manager Software –--RTS2 in Lijiang City during July 22-26, 2014. More than 60 participants coming from seven countries including China、Czech Republic、Spain、Switzerland、Italy、USA and Ireland attended the meeting. The RTS2 workshop promoted the spread and application of the Autonomous Observatory Manager Software in China, not only limit to RTS.
