It is a pleasure to welcome you to the 2nd International Conference on Information Acquisition and Knowledge Services (IAKS’2016), which will be held in Wuhan and hosted by Center for Studies of Information Resources, Wuhan University, during October 21-23, 2016.
In the context of informationization and intelligentialize of digital information resource management, it has become increasingly diversified for the acquisition and utilization of information resource. Web users can not only implement convenient information search with multiple terminals, but also integrate, process and mine the multi-source information in all directions. Meanwhile, web users can also promote the value-added utility of information resources by means of intelligent knowledge service. The enrichment of information acquisition and organization modes influences the user’s cognitive behavior. Therefore, it raises new research topics about the theory, method, technology and application of information acquisition and knowledge services. Under the research framework of informationization and information resource management, academia and industry need to change their ways of thinking and update their concept to study the frontier research about user cognition, information acquisition and knowledge services.
The 2nd International Conference on Information Acquisition and Knowledge Services Joint with the 7th Workshop on Search Behavior and User Cognition, undertaken by Center for Studies of Information Resources of Wuhan University, will be held on Ocotober 21-23, 2016 in Wuhan University.
This conference is aimed to explore the theoretical systems, methods and core technologies of information search, information acquisition and service organization in the development of informationization and information resource management on an international academic communication platform, to make breakthroughs in the field of information resource management, and to promote the future development of the discipline and social progress. It is a continuation of the succeeding former six workshops on search behavior and user cognition held in Beijing, Nanjing, Chongqing, Wuhan and Guangzhou respectively. This international conference is initiated jointly by Center for Studies of Information Resources of Wuhan University, Department of Information Management of Peking University, School of Economics and Management of Nanjing University of Science and Technology, School of Information Sciences of the University of Pittsburgh, School of information management of Nanjing University.
