活动简介
On behalf of the program committee, we cordially invite you to attend the “GPU Solutions to Multiscale Problems in Science and Engineering Workshop 2013 ”(GPU-SMP'2013),supported by Supercomputing Center, Computer Network Information Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences,. We are planning to hold the workshop in Changchun, China, July 29 - Aug. 02, 2013 (Monday through Friday) with people arriving in time for a reception on July 29 (Monday).
The next few years will see the passing of the petascale, and the dawning of the exascale era. This transition will be largely driven by the adoption of accelerators, such as Graphics Processing Units (GPU) and many-core CPU (e.g. MIC from Intel), and the creation of large hybrid machines. This international conference in Shenzhen will focus on understanding the potential usage of GPU and MIC from a computational scientific user point of view, particularly for multiscale problems in science on engineering. It brings together experts from China, Japan, and bordering Pacific countries such as the USA, Korea,Australia and Singapore. In addition to algorithmic research, we will focus on high level libraries and programming environments, such as PETSc from Argonne National Laboratory, USA, and visualization tools, that can improve the performance and productivity of large-scale applications. These advancements in GPU and accelerator research will be illustrated by both computational kernels and entire large-scale applications, which exercise these tools and libraries. The conference will bring together scientists with algorithm and hardware designers, especially students and young researchers, who are heavily involved in application studies for GPU, MIC, or hybrid systems. This will familiarize everyone with the challenges we will face using the coming architectures and give us a chance to learn from each other the wonderful opportunities available in the near future for surmounting them.
Changchun is a beautiful city. During the workshop, attendees will have chances to access to those local attractions. We hope you can come and participate.
