On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is our privilege to welcome you to attend the 6th International Symposium on Solar Fuels and Solar Cells (6th SFSC). The formal symposium will be held in Dalian, China, on October 14-18, 2018. A pre-seminar will be also held in advance of the symposum on October 13-14, 2018, which is an excellent platform for young researchers. The symposium is co-organized by Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP), Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dalian University of Technology (DUT). 

The scope of this symposium mainly focuses on the research of solar fuels and solar cells. The principal goal of this symposium is to provide an academic forum for scientists and researchers to present some of the latest outstanding research progress, exchange and share experiences and ideas, and brainstorm the solutions to the scientific and technical challenges in the development of efficient solar energy conversion and utilization systems. 

Energy and environmental problems are now global issues. We hope that the 6th SFSC symposium will bring together both young and experienced scientists from all regions of the world, and open up avenues for research collaborations at both regional and global levels. 

The SFSC is a biannual symposium co-chaired by Prof. Can Li (Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics) and Prof. Licheng Sun (Dalian University of Technology & KTH Royal Institute of Technology). We have been striving to make this symposium as a highly standard “Gordon Research Conference” like special forum in China in the research field of solar fuels and solar cells. Following the previous five very successful symposiums, we are anticipating a more exciting one for this 6th SFSC.
