NTMS Workshop on Big Data and Emerging Trends (WBD-ET), will be a one day workshop that will be held in conjunction with the 9th IFIP International Conference on New Technologies, Mobility and Security (NTMS). Papers published in the WBD-ET workshop will appear in the proceedings of NTMS 2018 conference. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore.
Big data has become a challenge in the modern research because of its unprecedented degrees of heterogeneity. Complex systems produce emergent phenomena and unexpected behaviors that cannot be studied through the classical, reductionist and hypothesis-driven research methodology. The researcher faces the challenge of first discovering those unknown and interesting patterns by mining huge volumes of multidimensional data, before trying to explain, model or predict them.Companies who miss big data opportunities of today will miss the next frontier of innovation, competition, and productivity. Big Data tools and Technologies help the companies to interpret the huge amount of data very faster which helps to boost production efficiency and also to develop new data‐driven products and services. So, big data applications are creating a new era in every industry.
While continuous improvements are addressing specific Big Data and Data Science issues data management, collection, analysis, evaluation, assessment, governess, clustering, data mining algorithms, machine learning algorithms, data sensing, infrastructure, modeling, security and privacy, statistical models, graph algorithms for big data and applications of big data in medical, healthcare and in IOT , several research areas are still emerging from new needs and challenges. To address these issues, WBD-ET 2018 workshop invites unpublished, high-quality contributions that focus on the applications, use-cases, architectures, deployments, and recent advances of Big Data and Emerging Trends.
The workshop is an opportunity for researchers and industrials to share their ideas, experiences, and expectations on the future of Big Data and Emerging Trends. The workshop seeks original contributions that address the following topics, but not limited to:
Big data collection and analysisBig data analyticsSocial computing big data and networksBig data evaluation and assessmentBig data governance and managementBig Data and Information RetrievalData mining and machine learningBig data sensing and IoT frameworks and infrastructuresBig data infrastructures and warehouseBig data modeling and frameworksBig data security and privacyBig data based monitoring, analysis and predictionBig Data ClusteringBig Data and Smart CitiesBig Data in Medical and HealthcareBig data and StatisticsBig Data and GraphsCase Studies and Innovative Applications
