Griffith University and SABEL Labs welcome you to the 12th Biennial conference on the Engineering of Sport on behalf of the International Sports Engineering Association (ISEA) in Brisbane, Australia from 26 to 29 March 2018 together with Australian Sports Technologies Network.Today more than ever engineering and technology make valuable contributions to the the way we play, watch and compete in sport. This conference brings world leading researchers, sports professionals and industry organisations, together, in one place and on the eve of the Commonwealth Games.Hear from the latest progress in design, mechanical, performance, analytics, textiles and wearables and how they are changing sport.
The technical program has three principal themes that cover a wide range of topics and sports. Submission is not limited to these themes and other topics will be examined by the committee and placed into the most appropriate session.
Theme 1:
Engineering Sport for Active Engagement
Theme 1 encompasses all that relates to active engagement and participation in sport. This can cover but is not limited to topics such as : Injury prevention Biomechanics Sports Psychology The Spectator Experience Innovation and Design The Business of Sport Education
Theme 2:
Sports Analysis using Simulation and Measurement
Theme 2 encompasses all that relates to the analysis of sport via measurement and/or simulation. This can cover but is not limited to topics such as: Biomechanical Modelling Fluid flow and CFD Equipment and Apparel The Unique Athlete and Anthropomorphism Sensors and Sensor based systems
Theme 3:
Computer applications in sports
Theme 3 encompasses all that relates to the application of computers and computer systems to Sport. This can cover but is not limited to topics such as: Cloud computing Performance Feedback Skills Assessment Data Analytics Wearables Mobile Applications Sensor Based Systems including hardware and software
