The advancement in smart multimedia technologies has led to numerous novel applications for the general public to pursue better quality of living. With the use of tiny portable sensors, we acquire useful signals from ourselves and the surrounding environment in a continuous manner. This provides a good source of data for monitoring, automated reminder, smart adaptation and adjustment, as well as decision making. With a perfect integration of these state-of-the-art technologies and data analysis techniques, we make our daily life easier in various aspects including healthcare, recreation, leisure learning, working, shopping, as well as living habit and pattern.

This interdisciplinary workshop aims to bring together researchers, scientists, engineers and scholars to share and exchange their ideas, experiences, visions and research works, and findings in applications that employ multimedia technologies to achieve better life quality. The ultimate goal is to develop a platform to facilitate cross-disciplinary research collaboration with an emphasis on innovative solutions for healthcare, digital entertainment, and e-Commerce.
