The success of enterprises in the future lies in two important elements, flow (reduce lead time ) and flexibility (equipment, personnel and product), which require enterprises to continuously carry out lean production VSM based on macro strategy and reduce waste during production. Waste during production usually adopts the form of shotpoint to be promoted and improved in the hope of decreasing total production cycle time (namely increasing flow of enterprise product). Total freight volume management discussed in this paper is a theory to present flow and flexibility of enterprise products based on the product of hauling distance and hauling weight during all production links within total production cycle time under VSM. Total freight volume fully reflects waste and efficiency of VSM during production and is presented to enterprise managers in the form of macro data.
