Export Situation of Chinese Vegetables: Based On Trade Gravity Model

Since 2008, China has become the largest exporter of vegetables in the world. As the food safety issue raised by the trade friction is in frequent occurrence, the vegetable export becomes the focus of attention. This article started with Chinese vegetables export total volume, flow, product structure and problem to look into the situation. Through introducing the trade gravity model based on Chinese specific condition, this article built a Chinese vegetable export gravity model. By using weighted least squares regression analysis to make empirical measurement, the article revealed the main variables of target countries or regions of importing Chinese vegetables. Finally on the basis of the above analysis, the article provides policy proposals about further expansion and optimization of Chinese vegetables export.
