Abstract—The Internet of Things (IOT) provide various data of resources in the real-world. The heterogeneity, instability, evolution and other characteristics of data bring huge challenges to knowledge sharing. Generalized resources contain sensors – monitoring equipments and entities – monitored objects. The goal of resource modeling is to describe resources in a standard and computer-comprehensible way to realize the sharing and interoperability of data. Ontology is wildly employed in resource modeling. But it is difficult for a person in a specific field to understand concepts of ontology. Moreover, the ontology cannot directly and concisely describe resources in business domain and transform sensing information to more meaningful contextual information. Considering the above problems, we propose a domain-oriented modeling method and develop a tool which completely shields users from complicate concepts in ontology. Users can build a model in specific business domain directly and connect entities’ properties with sensors. All operation can be finished through graphical interfaces easily.
