On January 7, 2025, an Ms6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County, Xigazê City, Xizang Autonomous Region, marking the strongest seismic event in the area in recent years. The epicenter was located near the Shenzha–Dingjie fault zone, a major tectonic boundary between the Qinghai–Xizang Plateau and the Indian Plate that exhibits both thrust and strike-slip characteristics. This study presents an AI-fused, multi-source assessment framework that integrates satellite remote sensing, UAV imagery, airborne LiDAR, and ground survey data to support rapid post-earthquake disaster analysis.
Differential Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (D-InSAR) applied to Sentinel-1 imagery captured co-seismic surface deformation, while high-resolution optical images and LiDAR data were used to delineate surface ruptures with enhanced spatial precision. UAV-acquired imagery and targeted field investigations provided further validation and detail.
Key findings include:
(1) Field validation confirmed that landslide-susceptible zones identified by optical interpretation did not experience secondary failure;
(2) D-InSAR revealed a clear co-seismic deformation pattern, with the affected area measuring approximately 6 km × 46 km;
(3) Integrated optical–LiDAR analysis refined rupture mapping, revealing a predominantly north–south rupture zone with secondary east–west-oriented fractures and associated infrastructure damage;
(4) The most severe surface rupture occurred near the epicenter, with maximum subsidence reaching 0.65 m on the western side of the Dingmucuo Fault and uplift of up to 0.75 m on the eastern side.
This AI-integrated space–air–ground approach effectively reconstructs the full-cycle earthquake impact and enhances both spatial detail and response speed. The methodology demonstrates strong potential for rapid seismic hazard assessment and offers a scientific basis for monitoring and mitigating secondary disaster risks in high-altitude, tectonically active regions.
