Purpose
Disconnector is a switching device without arc extinguishing function, which is needed to have a certain capacitive small current switching capacity in the actual operation. The study of the effects of temperature and air pressure on the arc current, arc length, arc duration and other external characteristic parameters of the disconnector has guiding significance for the disconnector test at high altitude.
Experimental
According to GB / T 1985-2014, the capacitive small current circuit of disconnector is built. The control variable method is used to change the temperature and air pressure respectively, and the parameters such as arc current and arc length are obtained with Pearson coil, photoelectric isolation measurement system of HBK company and other equipment.
Results
The data show that the arc current, arc length and other parameters are less affected by temperature, and these parameters show an increasing trend with the decrease of air pressure, which is consistent with the existing research results.
Conclusions
The results show that the decrease of air pressure makes the air insulation characteristics worse at high altitude. When three-phase disconnectors are arranged at this altitude, the distance between each phase disconnectors is larger; At the same time, the increase of arc current caused by the decrease of air pressure should be considered in the design of disconnector to prevent contact ablation.
