摘要
 This study investigated the effect of nano-MgO rod as filler on the electrical and mechanical properties of RTV silicone rubber coating. At the same time, the effect of nano-particle dispersion uniformity on the surface of RTV coating and the effect of filler on the surface morphology of the coating were investigated by environmental scanning electron microscopy. SEM images and static contact angle tests showed that the addition of nano-MgO increased the surface bulge of the coating and improved the hydrophobicity of the coating. Electrical performance tests show that the concentration of nanofillers has little effect on the surface leakage current, but the flashover voltage increases by 13.15 % due to the addition of nanofillers. The mechanical properties test showed that nano-MgO filler can greatly enhance the elastic modulus of RTV, but also lead to a rapid decrease in the elongation at break of RTV. It was also found that the effect of MgO nanorods on the electrical and mechanical properties of room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber coatings was nonlinear.
