Due to the immature technology for dealing with short-circuit faults in the DC distribution system, through the research on AC circuit breakers and high-voltage DC circuit breakers, the design scheme of low voltage hybrid DC circuit breakers is proposed. It helps to deal with short-circuit faults in the distribution network. Through the simulation analysis of the existing hybrid HVDC circuit breaker topology, the current transfer waveform when short-circuit fault occurs in the distribution network is simulated by MATLAB/SIMULINK. Under the DC voltage of 1500V, the fault current up to 15kA can be cut off and the simulation of the hybrid DC circuit breaker in the distribution network is accomplished. The application of the hybrid DC circuit breaker in the transmission system tends to be mature, and it is necessary to study the method of cutting off the DC short-circuit current in the distribution network. This paper improves the high-voltage DC circuit breaker based on the technology of the DC circuit breaker in the transmission system. The DC circuit breaker in the distribution network is researched and designed to realize the continuous, stable and safe operation of the distribution system.
