The electric field of HVDC transmission line is composed of the nominal electric field and ionized field. The nominal electric field is generated by the operating voltage of the transmission line. The ionized field is generated by ion flow around the transmission line. Because ions will attach themselves to particles as they move through air, so the character of the particles will impact the distribution of the ionized field and the intensity of the total electric field. In this paper, the total electric field distribution of HVDC transmission lines in rainy, hazy and dusty days is obtained by field measurement. The influence law of three meteorological conditions on total electric field distribution is obtained by comparing with the sunny days. The results show that the weather has a great influence on the electric field. The field strength drops slightly in moderate hazy days, light raining and sand blowing whether. The field strength increases slightly in light hazy days, the field strength and ion diffusion range increased significantly in dust storm whether. Only sandstorm weather has significant influence on the total electric field of HVDC transmission lines, and sandstorm weather is a rare event. so we don't have to consider the influence of weather on the electromagnetic environment in the design of HVDC transmission lines.
