摘要
Urban road traffic is faced with a severe challenge under the background of the development of new urbanization and high-speed motorization. Road network is complex and hierarchical, which is consisted of different grades of roads. Furthermore, it should have the ability to meet the various behavior demands of road users. The quality of the operation depends on whether the road network design could complete the system function. Therefore, quantitative assessment of road network design, according to reliability, provide a solid technical and theoretical support for the function guarantee and sustainable development of urban road, and it has important theoretical value and practical significance.
The paper regards the road users as studying objects, and discusses road users’ behavior and demands for road. Combined with the relationship between traffic demand, behavioral characteristics and functional attributes, the road function connotation is defined based on road functional classification. Then, the mathematical model of through functional reliability for link is established based on lane element on the stage of road network design, in which land use, access and vehicle lane-changing behavior are considered. Moreover, the model of traffic functional reliability for intersection is built based on the lane group types, and land use is considered. Finally, the design method of new-built road network is proposed according to traffic functional reliability of road network, in which land use, access and lane group types are main influencing factors.
