Abstract：Aiming at the speed limit problem of multi-lane highways in China, the vehicle speed dispersion coefficient is set as the safety evaluation index, and the driving delay is used as the efficiency evaluation index. Traffic simulation was carried out using VISSIM software, and the simulation evaluation results of various indicators were obtained. Through the comparison of results, the changes of safety and efficiency indicators under the conditions of mixed flow and different speed limits of lanes are studied. Design different mixing rates and traffic volumes, and study the applicable range of speed limit management for multi-lane highways.
