With the development of urbanization and motorization, traffic congestion has been increasingly serious. In this context, how to improve the operation efficiency and level of service of public transit has become an important research issue. In this paper, the literature of public transit from 2004 to 2019, were collected through the literature search engine: Web of Science (WOS). Using visualization analysis tool CiteSpace, the knowledge graph was drawn to show the research trends and hotspots, development process and structural relationship in public transit. The results show that the research content and research methods are increasingly diversified, but DEA is still the main analytical method. Smart cards are a popular source of data, and research data sources are more extensive. People-oriented slow traffic has become a research hotspot. In addition, the application of knowledge graph is expected to be a new study issue in the field.
