摘要
According to the Theory of Reasoned Action, subjective norm and action attitudes influence on actions intent, which will result in the execution of certain individual behavior. The same applies to road traffic safety, since drivers’ attitudes towards traffic policy have a direct influence on drivers’ behavior on safe driving. To verify this phenomenon and explore how the mediation effect of drivers’ attitudes towards traffic safety policies works on drivers in China, a Driver Behavior Questionnaire was designed and the attitudes towards risky driving and safety policy were quantified through Linkert Scale method. Disseminated through WeChat, finally a valid sample of 1505 participants. Then, multiple hierarchical regression was used to analyze this moderating and mediating effect and the results indicated that drivers’ attitudes towards risky driving behaviors are significantly related to self-reported driving behaviors. The moderating effect of other drivers’ attitudes towards risky driving can help regulating violation behaviors, and the traffic policy support has a mediation effect on driving attitude and traffic violation, especially for aggressive drivers. The above findings provide insights into the formulation of traffic policies which can help reducing the likelihood of road traffic violations of drivers with problematic driving attitudes.
