Nonparametric sliding mode predictive control strategy for LC-filtered voltage source inverters

The conventional model predictive control (MPC) of LC-filtered voltage source inverters (VSIs) is sensitive to parameter changes. To solve this issue, this paper presents a nonparametric sliding mode predictive control method based on sliding mode control theory for LC-filtered VSIs, which improves the prediction accuracy under the condition of parameter mismatches. The key point of the proposed method is to establish a novel sliding mode prediction cost function for capacitor voltage without using any model parameters. Compared with conventional capacitor voltage MPC, this method eliminates the current sensors, saves the hardware cost and improves the operation reliability of the system. The simulation results show that the control scheme has strong robust control performance under the condition of load variation and model parameter mismatch.
