Application of GM(1,N) method in the prediction of reducing sugar yield from corncob after ultrafine grinding pretreatment and sensitivity analysis of influential factors
Pretreatment of biomass helps to enhance the reducing sugar yield(RSY) from biomass during enzyme hydrolysis tests. Ultrafine grinding is a potential physical pretreatment method. The paper investigated the effect of affecting factors including milling time, initial particle size and ball to power weight on the RSY from corncob. To some extent, the RSY increased with the increasing in milling time, initial particle size and ball to power weight. Based on experimental data, the paper constructs an GM(1,N) model to predict the RSY from corncob under different ultrafine grinding pretreatment process, which could predict the RSY from corncob accurately and effectively without depending on the number of samples. The milling time was the most critical influential factor affecting RSY according to the driving coefficient. The lowest average relative deviation (ARD) of 8.23% was obtained using 9 samples to develop the GM(1,N).
