预制语块测评促进英语写作中形式与意义深度融合的实证研究



摘要:

英语写作是一个集思考、推理、分析为一体的复杂意义建构过程,同时也是寻求、对比、提取表达形式的语言产出过程,要促进英语写作中形式与意义深度融合,必须帮助学习者建立心理写作语块,让学习者能够像母语者那样提取预制语块,选用标准、地道的语言形式来表达意义。本研究立足于意义建构和语言产出界面,结合认知语言学和测试学相关理论,建立多层级预制语块动态评估模型,开展教学实验,结果表明:预制语块测评能有效提升形式与意义融合度。具体表现为,预制语块测评可以提高写作语块协同度,词句表达准确度,语篇逻辑性,内容适恰性;不同的测试题型(语块探索题、语块选择---反应题、语块建构题)对写作有不同的促进效果,文本交互性越强的题型促进效果越好;学习者变量包括文本互动能力、反馈能力、测评素养也影响了促进效果。

Full Form-meaning Integration in English Writing



Abstract

As a complicated process, English writing process involves thinking, reasoning and analyzing in meaning construction. Meanwhile it is a kind of language production including seeking, contrasting, extracting language forms to represent the meaning. In order to promote the full integration of form and meaning in English writing, it is necessary to change language writing mindset, which highlights EFL learners’ psychological writing chunks. In other words, learners can activate prefabricated chunks properly and express meaning accurately like native speakers. In the interface of meaning construction and language output, based on cognitive linguistics and testing theory this study establishes a multi-level dynamic assessment model of prefabricated chunks, and conducts an experiment to test the model. The result shows that the prefabricated chunks assessment can effectively improve form-meaning integration in writing. Particularly, compared with other tasks, the prefabricated chunks assessment can improve the alignment of writing chunks, language accuracy, discourse logic and language appropriateness; Different testing items (exploring items, selected response items, constructed response items) demonstrate different effects on writing, and the more interactive the test is, the better the effect is; Learners' variables(text interaction ability, feedback ability and language assessment literacy)also have an effect on form-meaning promotion in writing.
