Abstract: The implementation of and political education in College English teaching is based on “Guidelines for Ideological and Political Construction of Curriculum in Colleges and Universities”. Combined with the topic content in each unit, teaching resources about ideological and political education are explored so that the Core Socialist Values can be integrated into teaching content of this course. Positive energy is permeated in teaching activities, whereby students experience the Core Socialist Values and meanwhile are inspired by them. And in production-oriented activities students make progress in English language abilities such as listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating. By means of various teaching methods such as Projected-based Learning and Case Method, on-line and off-line learning, students are guided to learn and explore Chinese traditional culture, tell Chinese stories, and meanwhile student are guided to acquire knowledge about fundamental realities of our country so as to boost national identity and confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics. A questionnaire survey is conducted in this paper to explore students’ perception about the implementation of ideological and political education in College English teaching. The results indicate that students’ satisfaction level is high and their willingness to tell Chinese stories and spread Chinese culture is strong.
