Fault Section Location Based on Transient Phase Current Waveform Identification

Aiming at the difference of transient phase currents on both sides of the fault section and the small difference of transient phase currents on both sides of the sound section, a fault section location method based on transient phase current waveform identification is proposed. First, the fault phase is determined according to the voltage drop of the fault phase and the voltage rise of the non-fault phase; then the transient phase current of each detection point is collected, and the mutual distance between adjacent detection points is obtained; finally, locate the fault section based on the magnitude of the mutual distance value. The section location method is not affected by the transition resistance, fault location and fault angle. The effectiveness and adaptability of the method are verified by simulation analysis.
