Generally speaking, the law of electric energy consumption is similar to the characteristics of economic growth. But with the economic development into the new normal, major changes have taken place in China's industrial structure, energy consumption and economic growth trend gradually appeared deviation, even with a growing trend. Based on co-integration test and granger test, this paper studied the different industries in Shanghai electric power consumption and economic growth as well as the long-term equilibrium relationship between cause and effect, the results show that the proportion of electricity consumption and economic growth has a long-term and stable relationship, but different industries the causal relationship between electricity consumption and economic growth are different.
