The stable operation of the flexible AC-DC hybrid distribution network is inseparable from the support of relay protection technology, while the in-depth analysis of different types of faults will lay the foundation for the selection of relay protection schemes. This paper introduces the current situation of fault analysis of flexible AC-DC Hybrid distribution network, and set up a model of radiated flexible AC-DC hybrid distribution network on PSCAD/EMTDC platform. The pole-to-pole short circuit fault of DC side is deeply studied. Based on the simulation results, the response process of the entire fault as well as the characteristics and trends of transient variables after the fault are studied in-depth, which lays a foundation for the research of the subsequent relay protection method and the configuration of the protection device
