In order to reduce the occurrence or expansion of accidents and maintain the safety in the distribution network, it is essential to find out the weak points of operation risk for the power system in timely. In this paper, it proposed a weak points identification method of operation risk based on heterogeneous interdependent (HI) nodes theory. Compared with the node betweenness of complex network theory, the HI nodes theory studies the direct and indirect relationship of nodes and more suitable for the reality operation network. Firstly, according to the analysis of heterogenous interdependent network, the HI nodes are defined and used to evaluate the utility coupling of each node. Then an identification indictor of risk that is combined the utility coupling and the severity degree indictor of traditional risk evaluation is utilized to evaluate the weakness of each node. In the simulation, an IEEE33 nodes distribution network is used to verify the applicable, and the results show that the proposed method is validated to find the weak points in the distribution network effectively.
