Epoxy resin is a brittle material, and toughening with liquid rubber is one of the more mature methods. The method has little influence on the process method of the original formula system, and is simple and easy to operate, so it has been widely used. The addition of liquid rubber to the epoxy resin for toughening not only has a certain influence on its mechanical properties, but also changes other properties of the epoxy formulation system. Previous studies mainly focused on the mechanical properties after treatment, and little attention was paid to thermal and electrical properties. In this paper, hydroxyl-terminated liquid Nitrile Rubber(HTBN)was used to modify a kind of room temperature initially-cured epoxy resin, and the thermal and electrical properties were measured and analyzed. HTBN exists in cured epoxy resin in the form of micron sized rubber particles. and forms two phase structure with epoxy resin matrix.
